Lakshya 2020 judges' panel was adorned by four different dance personalities, each with their own niche carved.
1. Smt. Sulakshana Jayaram is a Bharatanatyam Artiste and the Director of the Shivoham school of Dance, Denver and the Founder of the Non-profit Aikyam Foundation- Arts for a Cause. Sulakshana Jayaram is an accomplished and accredited A-Grade Doordarshan (National TV India) artiste and is empaneled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Sulakshana was chosen to represent India as a cultural ambassador to Germany in 2006 in the ICCR DIG tour. She is the recipient of several awards including the Natya Bhairavi award( Bhairavi Gana sabha), Padma Bibhushan( Cuttack Mahotsav, Best Dancer award ( Parthasarathy Swami Sabha) and the NrithyaJothi Award ( Karthik Fine Arts). Sulakshana has curated and conducted the Aikyam Fundraiser -a multi-cultural Dance and music event that has helped raise over $40,000 to date to aid Flood relief efforts in Chennai, and Research for DIPG a deadly form of Pediatric Brain Tumor.
2. Thulasiram, more commonly known as Thulsi in the Bollywood Dance Circuit is one name that always pops up when it comes to unique dance blend choreographies including urban, hip-hop and Bollywood dance styles. Having started out as a novice dancer with Infosys Dance team, Thandav, just back in 2010, he quickly went on to choreograph and lead the team in several acclaimed competitions, thus carving a niche for himself back home. His one of a kind dancing style was platformed on the prestigious stage of Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva (Who among you is the next Prabhu Deva)soon after.
His wide-ranging skill set has made him a sought-after dancer and choreographer not only in India, but here in the U.S too. Being the primary choreographer for his team, Team Ground Zero (TGZ), Thulsi and his team have made quite the mark in the Bollywood Dance arena with their unparalleled vibrancy and zing on stage. Key among the various accolades adorned to their name, is their participation in the final showdown of the Zee TV dance reality show, Dance USA Dance, held in New York’s Playstation Theatre. They hold the title to have been the one and only team to have represented our Bollywood dance pride at the Dallas Hip Hop Dance Fest 2019, owing this title to their chreographer’s innovative dance numbers. Last but definitely not the least, Thulsi has directed and performed dance sequences in Mainstage and ThinkIndia’s very own house productions, “The Royal Dilemma” and “The Red Pashmina.”
3. Gabrielle Bryana has been actively performing since 2013 across the United States.
She began her performing career by competing on a nationally ranked Bollywood dance team. After placing 5th at nationals with her team in 2015, Gabrielle retired from the competition circuit and went on to pursue other dance styles. While she still performs Bollywood dance at professional events including bridal shows and cultural events, Gabrielle trained under world renowned Raqs Sharqi dancer Ava Fleming. She also trained urban dance styles such as krump and vogue, and she considers these to be huge influences on her movement as a performer. After training aerial under Cirque du Soleil artist Dima Deyneko and contortion under retired Cirque du Soleil artist Otgo Waller, Gabrielle now performs professionally as circus artist across the southwest. Some notable events she has performed at include Decadence with EDM legends, "The Aeronauts" movie premier with Amazon, and the Aerial Fitness Las Vegas Blood Drive.
4. Jaikishan hails from boston. Jai has been an avid dancer, performer & choreographer for the past 13 years . He is proficient in various styles of dancing such as Hip Hop ,Bollywood, Folk and considers Allu Arjun as his dancing idol.
In India Jai has participated in several dance competitions as part of his professional dance team and a fun fact about Jai is he and his team had participated in a dance reality TV show and their team were the Runners .
He has been part of Boston Bollywood from season 1 and loves the fact that he is able to choreograph and dance with the same freshness and enthusiasm he had when he started . He was the co captain for Boston Bollywood’s competitive team which won at South Asian showdown (an inter collegiate national competition) . He is a fun loving person and truly believes in teamwork.
