Welcome to ABCD School of Bollywood Dance Annual Recital

Our Annual Dance Recital is not just a bunch of dances strung together - it is a show! Get ready for a great weekend of rehearsals, pictures, dancing, and fun! If you and your children have ever dreaded Recital events, something just isn't right. Dress rehearsals need not creep into the wee hours of the morning. Young dance students should not be expected to perform like professionals. After all, this is a learning experience for them. Their onstage experience should be rewarding and exciting!
A formal theater, backdrop, lighting, and costumes help to showcase the students' hard work throughout the year. They will create memories that last a lifetime. Parents and students can expect outstanding choreography and an entertaining show featuring all of the dance styles offered at All That! Most importantly, the recital is an opportunity for students to gain valuable performance experience. This is why we work so hard all year long!
We look forward to seeing our dancers on stage!

All dancers participate in our yearly once Recital. The recital offers our students a professionally directed performance that allows them a chance to shine onstage and share what they have learned over the year!

Does my dancer wear a costume?

Yes! Dancers are required to rent recital costume and have the appropriate color and style of shoes. We will tell you the color of shoes based on the dance performance.

For example, if a dancer is performing in 2 dances, they will rent TWO costumes (one for each dance performance) and the appropriate shoes per class (bought on own).

How do we order our recital costume(s)? What are the Recital charges

Costumes are ordered (in April) in the first 2 weeks. If you or your kid have not filled in the size yet, we encourage you to do so ASAP so that you/your kid will not miss the costumes which may impact in performing with the team. Costume charges will vary between 12$ to 35$ based on the type of Costume. Recital fees charges are 50$ per dancer. If there is more than one member from the family is part of the dance school, they get a family discount and the Recital Fee will be 45$ per Dancer for them.

Dancer’s measurement details are sent online to be filled by the parents/dancers, and the school director will choose the best size for your dancer according to those measurements. Costume fees are non-refundable and costumes cannot be returned or exchanged for different sizes – We may have to have alterations done to your costume to ensure a perfect fit.

COSTUME CHARGES AND RECITAL CHARGES ARE DUE BY APRIL 7TH

Recital fees charges are 50$ per Dancer.

Sibling/Family – Recital Fee – 45$ per Dancer

Is there a Dress Rehearsal? When will it be?

YES! It is critical for the confidence of our dancers onstage that we do a trial run. This shows the dancers how to cope with little mishaps that can happen in a stage environment when you add nervousness, spotlights, and costumes! We run into all of these in rehearsal so that in the show, dancers know just what to do to keep the production going with a smile.

The rehearsals are held the day before the recital day (Saturday May 16th 2020) at Dobson High School Auditorium. Timing for rehearsal day will be communicated later. All Dancers MUST attend rehearsal

Do I need tickets to the show?

Yes, Each family will be receive 2 General admission tickets Complimentary. For more tickets for friends and families, please contact the Choreographer or the School Director for purchase. Recital tickets will be 20$ VIP and $15 General admission per seat (ages 5 & up). It can be purchased online and during classes from Beginning of April and May. For more tickets, all remaining tickets will be open to the public once all the tickets are given to Parents and Dancers.

Who cares for my child backstage?

Parent volunteers from the studio assist in coordinating & supervising backstage For each batch there are 2 volunteers. The backstage area is supervised for the duration of the show, and dancers remain in the dressing room after their second performance. Volunteer moms/dads DO get to watch their dancer on stage (from the backstage wings).

Can I videotape the performance?

This is an important memory, one you will always cherish. For that reason, we hire a professional videographer to film all shows. Phone and flash photography can be a distraction to our dancers. We ask all audience members to refrain from taking pictures or filming for the safety of our dancers and the enjoyment of the other members of the audience.

Will we receive pictures in costume?

Yes! Each year, we are planning a professional photo shoot at the studio in April for our dancers. Our professional photographer and team will make sure you get beautiful, high quality pictures in dance poses. A range of packages are available for purchase. Remember, even if you don’t want to purchase photos, each class takes a group photo for the recital souvenir program.

Do we have to wear make-up?

We believe that parents should be able to decide what is appropriate for their dancer based on their parenting style. That said please be warned that dancers without any makeup on will appear washed out under stage lighting. Footlights and spotlights are bright and the best way to look natural under them is to rely on a little makeup. We recommend at least a warm blush and red lipstick. If your dancer is very young, keep in mind the Recital is a once a year event, and feels a lot to your dancer like playing dress up

What type of hairstyle do we do?

We do not require any specific hairstyle, however please wear any hairpiece or accessory that is included with your costume. Many dancers will curl their hair, do an up-do or wear it half-up.

Parking spaces?

There is ample parking spaces in school campus and close to the auditorium.

Do we have seating arrangements?

Seating is based on first come first serve. For best seats, please arrive early.
